Chloe Cullen is an award-winning author and a life-long learner. Her first book, PERF: The Unspoken Flaws in Our Perfect Culture (New Degree Press), was a semi-finalist for the 2021 BookLife Prize. Her work has been published in Park Slope Reader, Please See Me, TINGE, Kalliope, and other publications.
Chloe has worked at every type of entertainment company. You name it--production companies, screenplay competitions, TV buyers--and she's worked there. Some companies include Scarlett Johansson's These Pictures, Creative Artists Agency, Coverfly, Comedy Central, and Upright Citizens Brigade. This analytical mind to assess potential IP or live shows translates to her Substack where she reviews movies, TV shows, and books that surprise or shock her. (She also originated an online column called "Self-Taught" where she taught herself how to cook by reading cookbooks and watching YouTube videos.)
In 2019, Chloe graduated magna cum laude from Penn State University, obtaining three degrees over five years: a Masters of Arts in creative writing, Bachelors of Arts in English, and a Bachelors of Arts in broadcast journalism. She received Dean's List all ten semesters as a student at Penn State and was invited to several honor societies based on academic merit, including Phi Kappa Phi and Kappa Tau Alpha. In graduate school, she was awarded a Teaching Fellowship to lead an introductory rhetoric class and was nominated twice for the Teaching Excellence Award. As a broadcast student, she was nationally ranked in the Hearst Journalism Awards for TV Feature Reporting. She worked in news rooms and TV studios through Centre County Report and the late-night TV show "After Hours."
She will attend Temple's fiction MFA program in the fall of 2025.
